Beginners Breathwork Course

- workshop & practice series -

Using foundational yogic breath practices (pranayama) infused with mindfulness and meditation, join us on this re-discovery of your amazing life-giving conscious breath.

We will explore the ‘how’s and why’s’ (the science and physiology behind the breath), with a gentle lean into the spiritual and philosophical aspects of pranayama and breathing. This is an exploration and a journey - it’s time for you to breathe better, feel better and live better.

Imagine a breath that...

brings you back into the present moment, allows you to see the world from a broadened perspective, boosts your sense of self empowerment, releases the grip of your mind on its constant thought loops, softens muscle tightness and increases fascial health, improves immune, respiratory and cardiac health, regulates your nervous system, improves body-mind connection, and balances energy levels…

Yep, a conscious easeful breath can do that!

Course & Practice

Modules

Re-awakening your natural easeful breath: Strengthen your breath for life utilising breath techniques, activating the correct breath muscles, and build the body-brain connection for a full-filling natural breath.

Re-patterning your natural breath: Learn how to utilise the correct breathing muscles to create the space and rhythm for easeful natural breathing.

The Nervous System & the mind: Our ability to directly tap into the nervous system is available if we just knew how - learn to soothe and strengthen your nervous system and discover present moment living and being, all through the breath.

Nose vs Mouth Breathing: Not only how you breathe, but where you breathe is important (and your nose has a LOT to do with this!). The nose and our own in-built natural pharmacy is the topic of discussion and practice here!

The ‘prana’ in pranayama: We tiptoe into the subtle body energetics of breathing - getting a little into the more spiritual and energetic side of pranayama and breathing.

Evolution & Leadership: Big picture thinking - evolution of breath, and breath as evolution. Cultivating on a philosophical note, a motivational emergence into your life, to breathe well, for life.

I'm ready to breathe easy, take me there...

"It's a bit of a mine field in the wellness and spirituality business sometimes. I found your critical and scientific approach so interesting and well presented whilst still sitting so well in the philosophy of yoga and spirituality."

Beginners Breathwork Course

- workshop & practice series -

Create a greater awareness of your own unique natural breath and body. Build a greater understanding of your nervous system, the function of breathing in its many facets, and your existence within this universe as a living thriving human being.

explore & embody

Via workshops, resources and practice.

Each module has mini-workshops for you to explore and learn different tools and techniques to apply directly into your own life and breath. Additional resources are provided for extra understanding and deepening into practice and integration.

Mini-practices are there for you to use in your own time and continue to build your breath awareness outside of class and ‘off the mat’ - the most important practice of all.

integrate

...through interwoven scientific and spiritual frameworks.

Explore the information and techniques from a scientific and modern standpoint, as well as traditional yogic frameworks of spirituality and philosophy. As a scientist and yogic practitioner, I believe both views are important and complement each other in a deeply integrative way.

Accessibility

All breath practices are foundational and functional - to be used in your life and day as you need. All content is self-paced (perfect for busy schedules).

Open to all levels of ‘breathers’ - breathing is accessible for any body (pregnant or not, ‘fit’ or not, I really mean anybody! if you are still unsure, just email me).

Scholarship spaces are available to anyone financially challenged, and priority will be given to BIPOC and marginalised folk. Just contact me via email - no fancy application needed!

Do you...

  • Get tight chested, short/shallow of breath (or even hold your breath!) when you get stressed or anxious?
  • Find yourself mindlessly scrolling for 30mins before realising you’ve been holding your breath for god-knows-how-long
  • Wonder why everyone harps on about ‘breathwork’ and how it can ‘change your life’, but have no idea why it could be so good, or where to even start?
  • Want to find a sustainable and accessible way to fit self-care into your day without needing an uninterrupted 60-90mins and all the yoga props and mat space?
  • Find yourself fidgety, distracted and challenged with the whole concept of ‘meditation’…but you're looking for a better way to bring stillness to a chaotic mind and ease the nervous system?
  • Get confused when your yoga teacher cues ‘ujjayi’ breath, and struggle to ‘breathe down into the belly’?
  • Want to lean deeper into the practice of yoga, away from the physical side of things?

If you answered yes to any of the above - this is for you!

I agree, I'm in!
